B’z Among 1000 Origami Cranes

Posted on April 10, 2011 by Tobias in Other

On April 5, Fukie Bata was invited as a guest during the program that was broadcasted on radio France Bleu Poitou. Yes, that's right, France. She is a Japanese citizen that moved to France in 2007 and they talked about how she came to France, and what experiences she has made. Furthermore, in the recent events of the March 11 East Japan Earthquake, they talked about her initiative to create 1000 origami cranes in order to show solidarity for the people in Japan.

"But... what does B'z have to do with it?!" you ask? Well... they also used the occasion to introduce Japan to the listeners and Fukie Bata was so kind to choose B'z as an example for Japanese Music. She especially chose BUDDY from the album ACTION, which was then broadcasted on the show. Hopefully, a few more people in France have become B'z fans now! B'z is mostly unknown in France, with Visual Kei being the reigning Japanese music genre.

Merci beaucoup to my friend Odon Vallon for his report on B'z no bise. You can listen to the radio show here using the Real Player.

Also, glad to know my French skills haven't gotten rusty in all these years. ;)

We would like to express our deepest condolences to everyone who has been affected by the Great Tohoku Kanto Earthquake and Tsunami. We are very depressed by the damage that has been caused in a lot of cities we have visited during our tours and had a great time in, which is way beyond our imagination. In order to help the people in this time of crisis, we're doing everything we can do to help with all our power.

Message From B’z About Music For Relief Participation

Posted on March 24, 2011 by Tobias in Other

B'z Official Website now also reports that B'z is participating in Music For Relief by contributing a song to the tracklist: HOME English version.

B'z has also taken the time to say a few words as to why they're participating:

Our country now faces a crisis we've never experienced before. In order to rebuild the beautiful houses in our country, we all have to do something. If playing music can help people in the disaster zone, then that's what we can do for them right now. And as such, that's exactly the thing we have do to right now.

Message from B’z and Shane Gaalaas about the Great Tohoku Earthquake

Posted on March 15, 2011 by Lum in Other

Today on B'z official website as well as B'z PARTY official website appeared a message from both members about the Great Tohoku Earthquake that hit Japan last Friday.

Now I'm praying for damage to not increase anymore and for more people as possible to be rescued and saved.
Everyone, let's join forces to overcome this moment, so someday soon we'll have our bright Japan back!!
- Tak Matsumoto

Seeing the great damages the Earthquake caused, the city where lovely people used to live disrupted, and so many lifes lost, this made my heart cry, and I felt helpless. I think we should be united, with all our might, because this could raise someone else's hopes.
- Koshi Inaba

Also B'z support member Shane Gaalaas wrote a post in his blog, both in English and Japanese:

Hello Japan,

Sending this picture I took this morning of a little flower that reminded me of you... I hope in some small way you could somehow find some happiness in your life in these tragic times.

Thinking of you and how lucky I am to know what a beautiful nation Japan is.

Love,
Shane

Koshi and Stevie in Japan

Rock virtuoso Stevie Salas is currently recording his new cover album "Jam Power". His last cover album "Electronic Pow wow" was released in 1993, in which he covers songs that influenced him as a musician featuring celebrity guest artists, to much critical acclaim. Now, in 2010, he's teaming up with artists such as Koshi Inaba, Slash, The Crystal Method, Juan Alderete (Mars Volta), Zakk Wylde and many, many more to record his latest cover album "Jam Power".

In August this year, before heading to the Fuji Rock Festival, Stevie met with Koshi Inaba to record a new track for his album. As always, it was a great experience for him to record with Koshi. They get along very well!

The album is going to be released in Japan on October 20th, 2010 and will be priced at 2500 Yen. A tracklist has not been unveiled yet.
