B’z Participating In Music For Relief
Linkin Park's non-profit organization "Music For Relief" has started to collect donations for earthquake victims in Japan. If you donate only $10, you'll get access to a growing number of songs available for download. B'z, among others, has contributed a song to the tracklist: The English version of HOME.

“B’z Office Sends Over 50 Million Yen To Disaster Zone”
B'z management has donated over 50 million Yen(500,000€ / $625,000) to help out people that have lost their homes due to the quake. But that is not all: They are also sending goods such as water into the disaster zone to provide assistance in supplying people with fresh water and food. Taking into account the goods as well as the generous donation, the total value of the donation amounts to more than 100 million Yen.
Being Group - which B'z recording label belongs to - has refused to announce the donation publicly as they do not want it to come off as promotion for the company. The information has been uncovered by an insider who then passed it on to a newspaper, namely Tokyo Sports.
The report states that Being Group has set up emergency headquarters to ensure the safety of their staff and their families.
He also says that Tak Matsumoto has taken interest in doing a collaboration with AKB48 to compose a new song which is different from his current ballads. No plans have been revealed yet, though.
B’z To Perform On Music Station Special 4/1
Looks like B'z is doing an ALL-OUT ATTACK this year. B'z Official Website states that B'z is going to perform during the broadcast of the 3-hour Music Station special which is set to air on April 1st, 2010 from 7PM to 9:48PM. It is unknown what song B'z is going to perform, but it is highly likely that B'z is going to perform their new single "Sayonara Kizu Darake no Hibi yo" to make up for the postponed release date of said single.
This is the first time in 4 years that B'z is appearing on television. Last time B'z appeared on television, they were performing SUPER LOVE SONG on the Music Station SUPER LIVE 2007 as well as Best Artist 2007.
Message from B’z and Shane Gaalaas about the Great Tohoku Earthquake
Today on B'z official website as well as B'z PARTY official website appeared a message from both members about the Great Tohoku Earthquake that hit Japan last Friday.
Now I'm praying for damage to not increase anymore and for more people as possible to be rescued and saved.
Everyone, let's join forces to overcome this moment, so someday soon we'll have our bright Japan back!!
- Tak MatsumotoSeeing the great damages the Earthquake caused, the city where lovely people used to live disrupted, and so many lifes lost, this made my heart cry, and I felt helpless. I think we should be united, with all our might, because this could raise someone else's hopes.
- Koshi Inaba
Also B'z support member Shane Gaalaas wrote a post in his blog, both in English and Japanese:
Hello Japan,
Sending this picture I took this morning of a little flower that reminded me of you... I hope in some small way you could somehow find some happiness in your life in these tragic times.
Thinking of you and how lucky I am to know what a beautiful nation Japan is.
Love,
Shane
B’z Whereabouts After Great Tohoku Earthquake
As you probably know, last friday, 14:46 local time, a magnitude 9.0 earthquake hit Northern Japan and caused major destruction resulting in the death of at least 1700 people. Right now, Japan is facing another problem as nuclear power plants Fukushima 1 and 2 have been damaged by the aftershocks and tsunamis that hit the coast in Japan and lost cooling function. Hopefully they will be able to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. The last time Japan has experienced a huge earthquake was the Great Hanshin Earthquake in 1995. B'z Management has issued a statement that all B'z members are fine and unhurt. (via B'z Official Website as well as B'z PARTY Official Website)

Additional Info About “Don’t Wanna Lie”
News has finally reached official channels as B'z Official Website and Conan-Movie.jp have been updated to report that B'z will indeed serve the theme song for Detective Conan's 15th theatrial movie called "A Quarter of Silence". But that is not all: The very same song is going to be the new opening to the anime series as well. Starting April 30th, the song will be the opening theme to Detective Conan on TV.
A release date has yet to be determined, but considering it is going to make an appearance on TV as well, I say we can expect further news in April.
Oh and don't miss the chance to check out the theatrical trailer which features a small part of "Don't Wanna Lie". Just head over to www.conan-movie.jp, click on "Trailer" and select the first one at the top.
B’z “Don’t Wanna Lie” Theme Song For Conan Movie *Update*
Some person on the Japanese bulletin board 2ch leaked the information that B'z will do the theme song to the latest Detective Conan movie "A Quarter of Silence" which will hit theatres on April 16th. The Detective Conan series is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. Here's the picture that has been posted on 2ch:
The song is called "Don't wanna lie". There's also a message from B'z in the blue box. Unfortunately the resolution of the picture is too low to make out what the text says but someone on 2ch was kind enough to type it up:
"Congratulations to Detective Conan celebrating its 15th anniversary.
We have been offered to produce a song a lot of times for Detective conan. The song is closely related to the movie.
It has been 5 years(*) since our last production for Detective Conan, we have put a lot of enthusiasm into it. It's a great honour for us.
The song is about the will to not lie to yourself in important situations in life.
Please enjoy "Don't wanna lie" along with the Detective Conan movie."
(*) They did "Shoudou" and "Yuruginai Mono Hitotsu" in 2006 for Detective Conan
More information is expected to surface soon. The song should appear in the theatrical version of the trailer which is expected to air in a few days. Also, the announcement, along with details, is expected to be in the next issue of the Shounen Sunday magazine, hitting stores next week on Wednesday.
*UPDATE*
Here's a picture of the article in the morning paper:
Stay tuned!

Interview translation:
Q. What are your thoughts on your first TV commercial appearance?
Tak: Since it's our first time, I didn't know what to expect, so I was a little bit surprised by the speediness of the crew as well as their planning. I enjoyed it.
Koshi: The location of the filming was a place where there's nothing at all. We have been to such places before, but there have been a lot of staff members and because of that it turned out to be a very pleasant experience and I'm thankful for that. Thank you very much.
Q. What do you think about the fly-by shot?
Tak: I was really surprised by that one. I didn't think they would come so close. I bet I look so surprised there that perhaps you can't use that scene.
Q. About the song in the commercial "Sayonara Kizu Darake no Hibi yo"
Tak: First we talked about [the commercial] and had a look at the storyboard. When I composed the song, I felt it had to be speedy and fresh and the like. That's what I realized.
Koshi: Before we actually went into the studio, we bought Pepsi and while drinking it - this is real, by the way - we composed the song in the studio. Also this is our first try at doing something like this and a part of last year was dedicated to our solo projects, so I think the link between our solo and our band works is well done because we were able to go back to producing songs as a band right after that.
Q. A message to the fans
Tak: It's the first time we've done something like this and I think this song turned out great. Please look forward to checking it out! Thank you.
Koshi: A lot of people have put their work into this song, so I think it's a wonderful piece of work. Please look forward to checking it out!
Details About Pepsi Nex CM
There are a few facts that have been left out in the previous post. It is actually B'z first appearance on a TV commercial. They will perform their song "Sayonara Kizu Darake no Hibi yo" throughout the commercial which is shot in the wilderness. The two will be accompanied by model Leyna Kagami. (actually her name is "Reina" not "Leyna", but Japanese can choose their English names...)
Now that Pepsi's site has also been updated, you can watch the making of the commercial there. You will be able to hear more parts of the song - with singing, too. I have it right here for your convenience:
