EPIC DAY Debuts Atop Oricon Daily Albums Chart!

The nineteenth studio album by B’z has just seen its official release with initial sales numbers beginning to roll in. Oricon is reporting that 「EPIC DAY」 has premiered at the top of their daily album charts with a massive total of 118,540 copies moved in Tuesday pre-sales. The album will see wide availability on Wednesday and is expected to become the band’s sixteenth consecutive number-one studio album, dating back to 1990’s 「BREAK THROUGH」.

B’z SHOWCASE 2015 -Shimonoseki Uchouten NIGHT- Announced!

This morning an ad for a SHOWCASE show has been posted in a local newspaper in Yamaguchi prefecture. The SHOWCASE is held in Shimonoseki at the Shimonoseki Shimin Kaikan on March 9th, just two days prior to the LIVE-GYM kicking off.
SHOWCASE shows always serve as a warm-up gig for the upcoming tour and an occasion to play in a more remote location. To give local fans the chance to go to these shows, they are announced in local newspapers only. Also, for the first time, people calling from outside the prefecture are blocked automatically to prevent them from booking tickets.

Tak Matsumoto On Shane Gaalaas’ New Album Bitter Suites from the Red Room
News Shane Gaalaas is going to release his new solo instrumental album titled 「Bitter Suites from the Red Room」 in Japan on April 1st. The album will feature 9 tracks, including the track 「Grind 2.0 (The Salacious Elixir)」 on which Tak Matsumoto plays the guitar solo. Otherwise, all instruments were played and recorded by Shane Gaalaas himself.

B’z Interview & Cover of WHAT’S IN? March 2015 Issue
News For the first time in 10 years, B’z is on the front cover of an issue of the WHAT’S IN? magazine. This particular issue features a special interview with B’z which will detail all the tracks on their new upcoming album「EPIC DAY」, including 「Endless Summer」, which is the B-side to the recently released single「Uchouten」. The magazine is out on February 14th. I have already ordered my issue and will hopefully be able to provide all the information on the album over the weekend. Stay tuned!
