Tak Matsumoto LIVE 2014 -New Horizon- Tour Logo Revealed
Tak Matsumoto News The tour logo for Tak Matsumoto’s solo tour in support of his upcoming album 「New Horizon」has been revealed. The logo is consistent with the art we see on New Horizon’s cover: It contains the shape of a Gibson Firebird. And that’s because Tak had Gibson build him a custom Gibson Firebird prototype which he used (among other guitars) for the production of the album. We may see a Tak Matsumoto Gibson Firebird model in the future.

Tak Matsumoto Solo Tour 2014 Dates, New Solo Album Coming Soon
Tak Matsumoto News 
The new year kicks off with great news! The band has just announced the dates for Tak Matsumoto’s 2014 solo live tour in support of his new solo album! No details have been mentioned about the album, but we can be sure that his new song Rain that he has performed during B’z LIVE-GYM Pleasure 2013 -ENDLESS SUMMER- will be on the album. The album is set to be released this Spring.

Charts: ~en II~, TAKE YOUR PICK
News Last week, as we know, Koshi Inaba LIVE 2010 -enII- was released.
With not-so-much-surprise, it reached #1 on Oricon on dvd and blu ray charts, with 27.000 and 21.000 copies sold respectively.
Oricon also notes he’s the first male solo artist to reach #1 on both charts, just like B’z were the first group to achieve this last August.
Due to the Grammy effect, Take your pick re-entered the Oricon chart, reaching #18. The album even made it up to #4 on the daily album chart for a short period of time. Last week this album was off the top 300, so it’s definitely a good result for them.

Tak Matsumoto Special Guest at Mari Hamada Concert
Tak Matsumoto News So… I wanted to see Tak Matsumoto playing with Mari Hamada again. So I looked for the old video of his performance of BLUE REVOLUTION which dates back to before B’z debuted. What did I find? Well… apparently Tak Matsumoto came up as a special guest in Mari Hamada’s 2010 “Aestetica” tour 25th Anniversary tour “On the wing” which was released on DVD on April 15th, 2009. Good to see the old duo together again for a song. Enjoy!
And here’s the video I was originally looking for… from 1987. You can see Tak doing his solo at around 2:30.
Larry & Tak Videos From Tokyo Jazz 2010
Tak Matsumoto News As previously reported, Tak Matsumoto and Larry Carlton were given the honour to perform at the Tokyo Jazz Festival 2010. In fact, it was the first time for Tak Matsumoto to perform at Tokyo Jazz Festival. Several weeks after the festival ended, the whole festival was aired on TV including selected performances by Larry and Tak. I promised I would post the videos here once I found them. Kudos go to Youtube user ktp178tak who uploaded them.
