News

The second of two premium live concerts held as part of a 7-Eleven promotion has just wrapped in Japan. The show, which took place at the newly-minted Zepp Osaka Bayside, was identical to Tuesday’s appearance—with one older single making its first appearance since 2012! Also, two songs switched places in the setlist.

After a brief hiatus following B’z SHOWCASE 2017 -B’z In Your Town- to finalize recording on DINOSAUR, B’z have returned to the live stage with tonight’s 7-Eleven presents B’z PREMIUM LIVE at Zepp Tokyo! The intimate venue’s capacity is just over 2,700 and was last played during B’z SHOWCASE 2007 -19-.

Entry to the show was determined via lottery amongst those that purchased and pre-ordered the premium release B’z COMPLETE SINGLE BOX. While today’s show took place in Tokyo, a second show will take place Thursday in Osaka, presumably with the same setlist.

Given that the aforementioned album’s titular tour is just over a week away, the event served as the live debut for many of its tracks. It also saw the return of a single not played in fifteen years, a beloved mini album song not heard since 2008, and the stage premiere of a certain digital single!

As previously announced at the end of July, the first ever B’z Loud-Gym—a monthly fan-centric meetup at numerous clubs and bars around Japan—will continue meeting monthly at various venues around Japan. At each gathering, specially-tailored live footage will be showcased for attendees. The theme for the second gathering will be “IN YOUR TOWN NIGHT”, but first we have details on the September event that took place on September 21.

Second Event: “IN YOUR TOWN NIGHT”

The second event scheduled for October and given the moniker “IN YOUR TOWN NIGHT” seems like it will live up to the distinction. There, audio from this year’s B’z SHOWCASE 2017 -B’z In Your Town- will be played for attendees. Specifically, the audio recorded at the July 26 show at the Biwako Concert Hall in Shiga Prefecture will be presented. This may bode well for those hoping for the tour to receive the home video treatment in the future and possibly may signal some inclusion as bonus footage on a future release, such as the upcoming studio album DINOSAUR.

Koshi Inaba News

What is expected to be the finale for Koshi Inaba & Stevie Salas’s CHUBBY GROOVE promotions has at last wrapped with a performance at SUMMER SONIC SHANGHAI 2017. While this is Koshi’s first performance in China proper, it is not his first time working in Asia outside of Japan. In 2001, B’z performed two Pleasure-themed shows in Hong Kong and Taipei as part of B’z LIVE-GYM in Taipei & Hong Kong 2001.

Koshi Inaba News

Koshi Inaba & Stevie Salas’s mini-reunion for their CHUBBY GROOVE promotions continue with a triple billing alongside visual kei icon Miyavi and J-rockers Made in Asia. The latter features Koshi Inaba LIVE 2014 ~en-ball~ and Koshi Inaba LIVE 2016 ~enIII~ supporting guitarist Duran on guitar.

Luckily, the setlist is an expanded and unique version of the setlist the band played for SUMMER SONIC 2017. Most interestingly, it also saw Koshi reunite with Duran and welcome newcomer Miyavi to the stage for a full band rendition of The Clash’s “Police On My Back” near the end of the show:

As previously announced at the end of July, the first ever B’z Loud-Gym—a monthly fan-centric meetup at numerous clubs and bars around Japan—will take place next month on September 21. Its theme will be “GREETING NIGHT”. The first details of what will be shown have just been revealed for the first time and will be sure to please longtime fans.

Sample footage from the “B’z LIVE-GYM COLLECTION” contained in B’z COMPLETE SINGLE BOX will be screened at the venues, along with at least partial performances from B’z SHOWCASE 2009 -B’z In Your Town-! The footage for the latter will be sourced from the band’s showing at the Matsumoto Performing Arts Centre on July 30, 2009. Notably, very little footage from the 2009 SHOWCASE tour is publicly available, with only some moments sampled in the Magical Backstage Tour documentary contained on limited edition copies of seventeenth studio album MAGIC.

It is unknown exactly how much footage will be played from the show, though it has long been requested for home video by fans due to the presence of several rarities, including “Crazy Rendezvous“, “VAMPIRE WOMAN“, “MY SAD LOVE“, “THE GAMBLER“, and “Kirei na Ai Jyanakutemo“.
